In May 2022 the Daleville Area Amateur Radio Service applied for an ARRL Club Grant to be able to provide radio kits for the youth to be able to build their own radio receivers. The radio receivers will be able to pick up air traffic control and even local commercial radio stations. The grant will also provide textbooks for those wanting to study to earn their amateur radio operator license AND provide for a scholarship to cover license fees for a number of those interested in obtaining their FCC license for amateur radio.
Last, but certainly not least, the grant would also provide for a portable radio setup for classroom use, demonstrations, Field Day, emergency/public service deployments, and more.
On August 29, 2022 the Daleville Area Amateir Radio Service was notified by the ARRL Foundation that it received the full grant request!
This is outstanding news for the Daleville area!!!
Stay tuned for updates!!!!!!!
