Field Day 2022 is in the books for us!
Field Day is an amateur radio event where the amateur radio operator (also known as a ham) will set up an amateur radio station in an area using field conditions (not using commercial power, not using amplifiers, etc) and make as many contacts throughout the event as possible.
In addition to testing the amateir radio operators ability to operate in these conditions, it also serves as an opportunity for the ham to showcase amateur radio to the general public, emergency services, and catch the interest of future amateur radio operators.
The Daleville Area Amateur Radio Service set up at Culpepper Park on June 25, 2022 at 6 am and operated until approximately 10 am. Despite the rain, we had a great time and we had a conversation with multiple citizens.
We will operated a 2 meter station as well as an HF station. We utilized the 1x1 call sign K4D for the Field Day event.
Stay tuned for more information on the next Field Day event!
